You’ll play a crucial role in designing and implementing modern, best-practice data solutions. Working closely with the Data and Analytics team, your focus will be on pipeline integrity, security, data modelling, and scalability. Your contributions will directly support improved data quality, governance, and reporting outcomes across the department.

Data Engineer 12 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities

Build and manage robust data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric in a hybrid cloud environment
Handle large-scale data using PySpark, PySQL, and .delta within Fabric Lakehouses
Leverage advanced SQL to optimize complex database structures
Monitor and resolve pipeline issues to ensure operational stability
Collaborate across teams to align data solutions with business and analytics goals
Support handover of developed solutions to BAU teams
Apply and enforce data quality measures across pipeline processes
Prepare datasets suitable for advanced analytics and machine learning use cases
Identify and suggest improvements in data analytics workflows
Create clear and detailed technical documentation
Contribute to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes
Apply strong knowledge of data modelling to support structured design

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a data engineer working with Azure Synapse, data pipelines, lakes, and SQL
Demonstrated ability to design scalable data architecture for hybrid cloud environments
Advanced SQL skills for complex transformations and performance tuning
Hands-on experience with Azure data engineering tools and Microsoft Fabric
Ability to prepare data for analytics and machine learning pipelines
Knowledge of implementing data quality and governance processes
Azure Data Engineer Associate certification is highly desirable
Proven ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams
